Sven Sopić

Sven Sopić was born in Valpovo, a small town close to Osijek. He trained in NK Valpovo until he was 7, when he moved to NK Osijek's academy in 2014. In the 2020/21 season, he captained Osijek U15's to a historic double domestic crown (U15 1.HNL & U15 Croatian Cup).

Sopić is an extremely promising modern centre-back. He is right-footed and mostly plays as a RCB. Physically very strong for his age but still has above average pace for a CB. Extremely technical as well, has a very good range of passing. Often plays out from the back.

His intelligence for his age is also very impressive. Knows when and how to position himself in defence. Strong in the air as well — winning 64% of his aerial duels (6,7 p90)

He recently played in the 'Vlatko Marković' tournament (U15 international) in May for Croatia U15. He started all of the 4 games and won the tournament with Croatia.

Sven is an extremely promising talent, big mistake by Osijek for let him go for free. Dinamo will offer him better development IMO so he couldn't go wrong in joining them. He's gonna turn 15 next month so I'm interested in if Dinamo’ll play him in the U15s or U17s next season.
