Brilliant youth days of Antonio Marin...
Once considered the most talented player in the Dinamo Zagreb's academy, maybe even the whole country. Star for the youth National Teams:
Croatia U17 - 13 starts / 7 goals / 4 assists
Croatia U19 - 13 starts / 10 goals
Croatia U21 - 3 starts / 3 assists
Joined Dinamo's first team in the worst possible moment during the horrible Igor Jovićević spell after lockdown where he wasn't the best but he was still just 19-years-old. He got 1 and 1 in just 257 minutes after the restart, definitely deserved to get more opportunities.
He wasn't given enough time, new coach Zoran Mamić didn't see him in his plans so he decided to loan him out, even try to sell him but there were no good offers. He got loaned out to the worst possible club - AC Monza in Serie B He played just a measly 85 minutes there.
In Jan. his loan got terminated. Dinamo then loaned him out to Lokomotiva, certainly a much better decision for his much needed playing time & he's more comfortable in his home country. He started 2 of the last games for Lokomotiva, playing the whole 90 minutes both times.
He looked very promising & inspired. You also need to remember this is after not playing regular football for nearly 8 months. He needs to get back into rythm.
Hopefully he gets back on track and gets to work. I still think he has time to turn it around.
Looked very promising considering he hasn't played regular football in nearly a year. Makes me excited what he's going to bring when he's fully back in-form with full fitness.
Goal for Croatia U20:
